Job Description


Job Title: Authentic Turkish Chef

Job Scope:

The Authentic Turkish Chef is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting traditional Turkish cuisine with a focus on authentic flavors, ingredients, and cooking techniques. The chef ensures high-quality food preparation in line with Turkish culinary traditions, manages kitchen operations, and may contribute to menu development and staff training.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Menu Planning & Development
    Design and develop a diverse, authentic Turkish menu, including regional specialties (e.g., kebabs, mezes, pide, baklava).
    Innovate while maintaining traditional Turkish cooking standards.
  2. Food Preparation & Cooking
    Prepare dishes using traditional Turkish cooking methods (grilling, slow cooking, baking, etc.).
    Source and use authentic ingredients such as spices, herbs, and meats typical of Turkish cuisine.
    Ensure consistency, taste, and presentation of all dishes.
  3. Kitchen Management
    Oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain cleanliness, and enforce food safety standards.
    Supervise kitchen staff and ensure team adherence to standard recipes and preparation methods.
    Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and control food costs.
  4. Cultural Representation
    Educate staff and diners about Turkish cuisine and culinary traditions.
    Create a culturally immersive dining experience by incorporating Turkish presentation styles and service customs.
  5. Quality Control
    Maintain high culinary standards and monitor food quality.
    Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations.
  6. Customer Interaction
    Engage with customers to receive feedback and explain menu items.
    Offer personalized dish recommendations and accommodate dietary needs when possible.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Turkish Chef in a restaurant or hotel setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Turkish cuisine, regional recipes, and culinary techniques.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Good communication skills; Turkish language knowledge is an asset.
  • Creativity and attention to detail.
