This food court does sell great food, however the prawn mee stall (which also sells wanton mee) is horrendous. There's no other way to describe how terrible the prawn mee is. It shows how bad they are because they're not even on Google Maps. (Though the wanton mee is ok-ish, the standard has no consistency.)
I had mine as a takeaway. The soup was stingy (they separated the soup and noodles), so it was a noodles-and-soup-as-separate-items kind of situation. They even gave chili padi that had a sour smell.
There's no way I'm eating their food ever again. Would have given 0/5 stars.
"One of my favorite hawkers! It's spacious and airy, with lots of food options. The eco rice isn't bad. There are many amenities here, including a Sheng Siong supermarket, and ample parking. The energy is good; great vibes!"
Latest update on July 6, 2022: I love the service at the drinks stall. The ladies manning it were very helpful and had an excellent memory for our usual drink orders. I always marvel at how precise they were with what we'd been ordering for the past year. And I was also pleasantly surprised when one of the staff took the initiative to help me carry my drinks to a table when my hands were already full with a tray of food! They are always smiley when they see us regular customers. Their iced milo-kosong caters to my taste buds, as it isn't sweetened, unlike at the other coffee shops we've been patronizing. I hope they can keep up the good work!
First review: An old coffee shop that has a very nice variety of food, ranging from chicken rice and Malay nasi padang to Indian rojak, yummy nasi bryani, lor mee, a rice stall, handmade dim sum, and the tasty chwee kueh stall right at the front of the entrance. The cleaners are pretty efficient too, even though they are elderly. Highly recommended place for heartland food.
20 Jan 2023 @ Coffee United (Pasir Ris), Singapore
It was drizzling when I reached the place. The seating area inside the coffee shop was a bit stuffy, despite having many wall-mounted fans blowing.
The outdoor seating area was sheltered with a huge retractable canvas, but the air circulation wasn't good. In addition, what made it worse was that the smoking area was located at the entrance, so I had to suffer and inhale second-hand smoke.
I ordered the iced tea, 'teh C bing' (non-sweet).
The tea had a mild, poor fragrance and lacked a rich aroma. It wasn't appealing at all. The ice floating on top diluted the upper part of the drink and made it even more tasteless. I had to remove the ice to salvage the rest of the drink.
I tried the coffeeshop "zhu chao" (煮炒) "Tze Char" (heated wok-stirfry).
The ingredients were fresh, and the "wok hey" charred aroma was achieved. However, the portion size of each dish seemed slightly small. Overall, the food was delicious and good.
"Had zhi char. Ordered hor fun and found a dead cockroach in the food. I was disgusted and complained. They offered a refund or to cook a new plate. I took the refund and will reconsider whether to buy from them again. The coffee shop itself is fine."
"They offer a good spread of various kinds of foods at decent prices. My personal favorite is the chicken rice stall in the corner; the guy running it is really friendly and generous with portions. The chicken rice tastes good and is pretty cheap, starting at only $4 for white chicken breast and rice."
Relatively new stall, Lei Cha Loves Pao Fan 擂茶爱泡饭.
I tried their Ban Mian. It had a flavorful soup with added crispy fried rice, which provided a nice crunchy texture.
"Newly renovated coffee shop. There are 10+ stalls available, all open during lunchtime (Sunday). The seating area is huge and very spacious. It's also well-ventilated."
